WELCOME
During this evening’s service Venessa Meredith was baptised on profession of her faith in Jesus Christ as Lord. We give thanks for Venessa who has returned to Greenfield and has been part of our evening congregation for many months.
Here Venessa shares with us her story of faith.
Hello everyone. I am Venessa Meredith and I come today to profess my faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.
Looking back Greenfield has always been very much part of my family. I remember with gratitude being brought by my grandmother to Sunday school and other services. Coming from a large family, they were happy days. Lovely memories of my grandmother Muriel Willaims, the family home in Myrtle Terrace where we would all meet up for which I will always be grateful.
I remember especially the Sunday school and one of the teachers in the infants Mrs Thomas who was very kind. They were really happy days. From hearing the stories of Jesus in Sunday school and singing the choruses I never doubted even from those days my belief in God.
The years that followed were good years and coming to my teenage years I decided then to be baptised. I must say that I didn’t go through with my decision at the time and as often happens with young people drifting away from the church but certainly never losing my faith.
Now, I am so glad I have returned. I come today to fulfil that promise I made many years ago to follow Jesus and to be baptised. My faith is as strong and sure as it’s always been. It has been a real joy for me to return to this church that I have always loved and to own my faith in Jesus as Saviour and Lord.
WELCOME TO BIBLE STUDY
As a church family, we grow strongest when we gather around God’s Word. Our weekly Bible Study is a precious opportunity to deepen our faith, strengthen our fellowship, and listen together for the Lord’s voice.
In a busy world, setting aside this time helps us stay rooted, encouraged, and spiritually nourished. If you have not joined us for a while — or have never been before — may I warmly encourage you to come.
You will be welcomed, supported, and blessed as we explore Scripture and share together. Your presence enriches the whole group. Let’s commit ourselves to learning, praying, and growing in Christ.
I look forward to seeing you there. The Romans course is a wonderful opportunity – Please come along…. Tuesday 7pm.
THANKS – NEPAL APPEAL
Thanks for £1000 already raised from last week’s retiring offerings.
Latest news from Christian Aid – There continues to be widespread devastation with thousands of families displaced and many communities still cut off.
We have released emergency funds and are working through local partners to provide shelter, clean water, food, and medical support to those most affected.
Our grateful thanks for your support. Please continue to pray for Nepal as Christian Aid helps communities begin the long road to recovery.
