Supporting the Community:
Greenfield is very active in supporting and looking after the needs of others in the community. Outreach is such an important priority for the Church for both home and abroad, and Greenfield regularly `reaches-out` to those in need in our locality in a practical way
Some examples of helping the wider community include connections with schools, a midweek Soup Kitchen, maintaining supplies for the Food Bank, recording Talking newspapers for the Blind, Hospital and Hospice Chaplaincy, and many other supportive activities throughout the year.
SOUP KITCHEN:
The midweek Soup kitchen was introduced in 2018, offering a place for a hot meal not just for the homeless, but those others that might be struggling in society.
Hot food and drink are offered along with a spacious and safe environment to talk with our guests and offer any practical support we can.
Here at Greenfield we are fortunate enough to have a segregated kitchen area where the hot food and drink can be prepared before serving our guests through a serving hatch to the Lower Hall.
Our guests are able to leave with some additional donated food to help them through the following few days. Alongside this we also have a small supply of donated clothing and bedding that can be distributed to those most at need.
If you can assist with any form of donation, please have a word with our Minister the Rev.David Jones
